Fighting again as we head to Brussels: The situation is extremely worrying for BiH's already eroded credibility!

The coordination mechanism, as one of the main conditions for BiH's EU membership application to be credible, was adopted on January 26 at a session that no one knew about, not even the highest legislative body in BiH, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, reports the Patria news agency.

As is known, Prime Minister Denis Zvizdić misled MPs at the session on February 3 by saying that the coordination mechanism would be adopted by February 15, when in fact he knew it had already been adopted, which literally infuriated MPs, the non-governmental sector, and the public in BiH, who are increasingly demanding more transparent work from the authorities.

And we didn't have to wait long to learn the real truth, that the entities were not included in the drafting of the mechanism, but rather it was served to them as adopted and agreed upon, and the reactions started immediately. It is clear that this was a political agreement, not an institutional one.

The authorities from Republika Srpska loudly say that "for RS, the coordination mechanism does not exist, they do not recognize the one published in the Official Gazette of BiH".

Almir Terzić, a political analyst, warns in a conversation with Patria that "after the stance of the Government of RS, I fear that Bosnia and Herzegovina no longer has an established coordination mechanism, if it ever had one".

- Given that this is the first of the three conditions for a credible application for membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU, I believe that what is happening on Monday, February 15 in Brussels could expose us to unprecedented embarrassment and shame in front of all 28 EU foreign ministers. We haven't even submitted the membership application yet, and we have already sent information to Brussels that we haven't agreed on anything, or rather, how we will actually agree on the coordination mechanism - says Terzić.

Therefore, Bosnia and Herzegovina will speak with at least one voice, says Terzić and continues:

- The old practice is repeating itself, that we will have two or more, three voices towards the EU in practice. I think the Council of Ministers of BiH should not have hidden information on an important issue like the coordination mechanism. It is unfair to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the public, but also to the deputies and delegates of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH who have been asking for months what is happening with this, as well as other conditions set by the EU for BiH. How is it possible that in the country, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as the highest legislative body, does not know what the executive branch is doing. In my opinion, this is a very serious, disturbing message as to whether the legislative authority is functioning at all - emphasizes Terzić.

He adds that it is now completely irrelevant what the solutions published in the Official Gazette of BiH contain when they will not be applied, i.e., they are not valid in half of the country.

- There is no single voice from BiH at this moment. The situation is extremely worrying for BiH's already eroded credibility. Not in the country, but in Brussels. If I were a BiH official at any level, I would be ashamed on Monday, February 15, to look the EU foreign ministers in the eye. Because, we are going to Brussels fighting again - added Terzić.
