Indirect Taxation Authority Operations: Cigarettes, Glasses, and Watches Worth 123,000 KM Seized

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Authorized officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority, Regional Center Tuzla, conducted two separate operational actions, during which excise and other goods were found and subsequently seized.

The total value of the seized goods amounts to 123,000.00 KM.

During the official actions in the operational action codenamed "OCTAVIA", a passenger motor vehicle was searched, and 9028 packs of cigarettes not marked with excise stamps issued by the ITA were found. A criminal report will be filed against the perpetrator S.Đ. to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH – due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of Illegal Trafficking of Excise Products, under Article 210a of the Criminal Code of BiH, has been committed.

In the second action, officers checked the origin of goods for a legal entity in the RC Tuzla area and found a larger quantity of foreign-origin goods (watches, glasses) for which there was no legally prescribed documentation.

These actions were carried out in accordance with the instructions and directives of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the Court of BiH.

In the field activities, authorized ITA officers used specialized equipment donated to the Authority by the Government of the USA through the EXBS Program.
