Operation 'Hilux' - Three individuals apprehended

(Patria) - State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officers today (03.08.2022) carried out the operational action "Hilux" in the areas of Sarajevo, Kreševo, Grude, and Široki Brijeg, and searched residential buildings and movable property at nine locations.

Three individuals were apprehended on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "Illicit Trafficking of Excise Goods," as stipulated by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The apprehended individuals were taken to SIPA premises for criminal processing and questioning as suspects.

During the searches, items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings were discovered and temporarily confiscated: 2,500 kilograms of leaf tobacco, 300 kilograms of cut tobacco, and one tobacco cutting machine. The searches were carried out under the oral order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the West Herzegovina Canton.
