Operational action "Gold": SIPA arrested two people, seized a car, perfumes, and jewelry

(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), along with officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) of BiH, within the operational action codenamed "Gold" are today searching residential and auxiliary buildings and movable property at six locations in the areas of Bijeljina, Tuzla, Gradačac, and Lukavac.

The searches are being conducted under the order of the Court of BiH and under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that criminal offenses of "Smuggling", "Organizing a group of people or association for smuggling or distribution of uncustomed goods", "Illegal trade", and "Tax evasion or fraud", prescribed by the Criminal Code of BiH, have been committed.

Two people have been arrested who will be brought to SIPA premises during the day for criminal processing and questioning as suspects, after which they will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH for further jurisdiction within the legal deadline.

In the activities carried out so far, a passenger motor vehicle, spare parts for motor vehicles worth around 3,500 KM, and a large quantity of textile goods worth around 109,000 KM have been discovered and temporarily seized.

Also, gold jewelry (1,168 grams) - worth around 350,500 KM and silver jewelry (12,092 grams) - worth around 145,000 KM, a large quantity of perfumes worth around 10,000 KM, as well as other items that can serve as evidence in further proceedings have been discovered and temporarily seized.

Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton are also participating in the implementation of the operational action "Gold".
