Municipal Court in Mostar orders detention for Emir O. from Zenica: Robbed Konzum, a bakery, and a restaurant guest

(Patria) - At the proposal of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Mostar, by the decision of the Municipal Court in Mostar dated
September 8, 2023, detention for a maximum of one month has been ordered for the suspect
Emir O. (1994), from Zenica, due to the existence of well-founded suspicion that she committed the prolonged criminal offense of
"Theft" as defined by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Emir O. is suspected of having, in the period from February 11 to September 2, 2023,
with the aim of illegally acquiring property benefits for herself, committed the criminal offense of "Theft" in three
separate incidents, at different locations in Mostar, in the following manner:

On February 11, 2023, around 6:40 PM, she entered the "Konzum" store at Franjevačka
16b in Mostar, entered the warehouse area of the said facility, unlocked the safe, and from the safe stole and appropriated for herself
money in the amount of 2,600 KM,

on March 22, 2023, around 12:05 PM, she entered the "Dan-noć" bakery at Put 29 HUD b.b. in Mostar, owned by V. K., and from the drawer stole money in the amount of approximately 700 KM,

on September 2, 2023, around 9:40 PM, she entered the "Babilon" restaurant at Tabhana b.b. in Mostar, and near the toilet, from a woman's purse stole a wallet, owned by S. Z., which contained money in the amount of 1,250 KM and 400 Euros, as well as personal documents and bank cards in the name of S. Z., after which she kept the money for herself and threw the wallet into a dumpster upon leaving the facility.

The Prosecutor's Office proposed to the court that detention be ordered for the suspect Emir O. on the grounds that special circumstances justify the fear that she will repeat the criminal offense, and for this criminal offense, a prison sentence of 3 (three) years or a heavier sentence can be imposed, which the Municipal Court in Mostar accepted and deemed entirely founded and justified, and ordered the measure of detention for the suspect.

Emir O. is a repeat offender in committing this type of criminal offense, for which she has also served a prison sentence.
The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, in cooperation with the Mostar Police Department, continues to undertake investigative actions in this case in order to establish all the facts and circumstances under which this criminal offense was committed.
