Municipal Court in Mostar Suspends Trial in Case of Attack on Journalists Štefica Galić and Amer Bahtijar

More than two and a half years after the verbal attack on the editor-in-chief of the portal Tačno.net, Štefica Galić, and editor Amer Bahtijar, the Municipal Court in Mostar has decided to suspend the case, reports the Patria agency.

Judge Biljana Stajčić made the decision at today's hearing to suspend the trial because no one from the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton appeared in court.

We recall that on January 2, 2015, in the Mepas Mall shopping center in Mostar, after leaving the cinema, Štefica Galić and Amer Bahtijar were verbally attacked, accompanied by Galić's three-year-old granddaughter. They were attacked by Marin Kordić, Josip Čuljak, and Antonio Vrljić.

According to journalist Amer Bahtijar, the three of them cursed his Balija mother and told him and Štefica Galić that they would end up like Professor Slavo Kukić, who had previously been beaten in Mostar.

Josip Čuljak then falsely identified himself to the police, for which he was reportedly fined, while Antonio Vrljić, an employee of the Agency for Education and Training of Personnel of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was excluded from the case because, according to the police report, he was coincidentally present.

According to Štefica Galić, none of them appeared in court for nearly three years, while no one from the police showed up at today's hearing.

Judge Stajčić explained the absence of representatives from the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton with the words, "I don't know, I'm sorry, maybe they forgot," and decided that she "must suspend this unusual case."

- How could they forget when they called us two days ago. Officer Habibija called to remind us not to forget to come to court today, and they themselves didn't show up - asks an embittered Štefica Galić.

- This is another spit in the face of everyone who dares to think with their own head or, God forbid, act, by Čović's Cerberuses, servants in the judiciary, and the street right wing that is pre-amnestied from all responsibility, and confirmation that the watchdogs of every regime, including this fascist-Herzeg-Bosnian one, can do whatever they want - said Galić.

In November last year, Štefica Galić filed a criminal complaint with the Mostar police against unknown persons for placing unconstitutional flags of the so-called Herzeg-Bosnia on the streets of Mostar, and during the filing of the complaint, she experienced an unpleasant situation at the police station.

- I am sure that the same scenario will repeat itself with the complaint about the flags and the police officer who almost attacked me and called me a bitch. About the judgments and enforcements I lost in the defamation cases of Čović's hate dealers, I have already said everything. That is what the "internal organs" and courts that have nothing to do with justice or truth serve for, except to protect criminals in the system, in power, and on the street - said Štefica Galić today.
