Ilidža Municipality: Set of aid measures for entrepreneurs and citizens adopted

SARAJevo, (Patria) - With the aim of overcoming the consequences left by the pandemic and the coronavirus on the economy and business in 2020 and 2021, and due to reduced revenues and difficulties in business operations, Ilidža Municipality has prepared a set of aid measures for entrepreneurs and citizens for the upcoming period.

The Ilidža Municipal Council, at the proposal of the Municipal Mayor, has made a series of decisions aimed at overcoming the consequences of the pandemic for entrepreneurs and citizens, as follows:
- Rent for municipal business premises will not be charged for the period of lockdown during the pandemic,
- The use of public areas and gardens will be reduced by 50% for the next 3 months, with the possibility of extension,
- Rent arrears from last year can be paid by 31.12.2021 and will not be an obstacle to future applications and cooperation with the Municipality,
- Debtors for utility fees in 2020 will be able to pay them in installments by the end of 2021,
- Debtors of Ilidža Municipality will be exempted from paying default interest, with the obligation to pay only the principal debt and court costs,
- Agricultural land will be allocated free of charge to citizens for seasonal sowing.

“The burden of the pandemic should not be borne by entrepreneurs and citizens alone, but we should all act together in the best possible way to overcome the consequences caused by the coronavirus. We are continuously seeking the most effective mechanisms and relief for entrepreneurs and citizens in accordance with the Municipality's capabilities,” said Mayor Muzur.

Furthermore, Mayor Muzur announced that a set of measures for employment, self-employment, and launching start-up businesses will be adopted next month.
