In Centar Municipality, activities are underway to establish a Public Information and Alert System (SOUG) for the central Sarajevo municipality in case of natural and other disasters. For this project, 218,598 BAM has been allocated from the municipal budget funds intended for protection and rescue, announced the Centar Municipality, as reported by the Patria news agency.
After the tender procedure, the most favorable bidder was selected - the company MIBO Komunikacije d.o.o. Sarajevo, and the work should be completed in the coming days.
With the establishment of this modern unified system, citizens will be promptly given warning signals, as well as voice and text instructions on how to act in case of danger from natural or other disasters. As part of this project, appropriate notifications for the population will also be prepared.
The technical characteristics of the public information and alert system fully meet the needs of a modern urban municipality. This includes the required high noise level in the city center, as well as the possibility of expanding the system if the municipality expands or its peripheral areas become more densely populated.
Necessary measurements have selected locations for installing siren bodies, as well as the control center of the alert system, which will be located in the premises of the Civil Protection Service of Centar Municipality. External locations where the sirens will be placed were chosen based on the mentioned measurements, and the objects themselves were selected based on ownership, i.e., mostly objects owned by Centar Municipality: the Centar Municipality building; local communities 'Soukbunar', 'Koševsko brdo', 'Hrastovi-Mrkovići', 'Betanija-Šip', and 'Pionirska dolina-Nahorevo', and the Nahorevo Agricultural Cooperative. Poles with sirens will be installed within the water supply compound at Crni vrh, within the compound of the Voluntary Firefighting Society 'Bjelave', and at the Bosut repeater location.
The system is maximally digitized, for which Centar Municipality already has the technical prerequisites. Based on the software application, which is an integral part of the SOUG, it will be possible to transmit siren signals, as well as voice signals and text messages for residents of endangered areas, the announcement states.
