They can be the engine of our economy: Banja Luka hosts business forum of BiH diaspora

Banja Luka will host the “Third Business Forum of BiH Diaspora – bhdiafor 2015“ on October 9, which will gather a large number of investors from the country and the region, writes the news agency Patria (NAP).

The goal is to stimulate business cooperation between domestic companies and companies whose owners, or in which they work, are members of the BiH diaspora community.

Last year, the business forum with the BiH diaspora was organized in Sarajevo, and the year before in Prijedor, which was attended by more than a thousand business people in total, resulting in significant business cooperation and projects to date.

Former Governor of the Central Bank of BiH Kemal Kožarić warned that authorities should establish a stronger connection with people from abroad who have BiH roots. He reminded that the BiH diaspora annually sends about 3.5 billion marks to BiH, which is one of the most significant components that closes the current account deficit in BiH.

- They should not be seen only as senders of money, but should be encouraged as investors, and they should also be asked to send new knowledge and new business logics and habits to BiH – said Kožarić.

The main organizer of the “Third Business Forum of BiH Diaspora – bhdiafor 2015“ is the Association “Naša Perspektiva“. The main financier of the forum is the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in BiH. The gathering is also supported by numerous governmental, non-governmental, and international organizations, writes Patria.
