Enable domestic police uniform manufacturers to have equal conditions

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A meeting was held at the premises of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina with representatives of the BH Consortium, which brings together domestic manufacturers of police and military equipment.

Representatives of the BH Consortium, which includes successful companies Koteks d.o.o. Tešanj, Sparta d.o.o Banja Luka, MEN d.o.o. Travnik, ZENKO d.o.o Zenica, Uslužnost d.o.o. Sarajevo, Tekstilna industrija d.o.o. Mostar, Miltex d.o.o Banja Luka, K.L.M. Prnjavor and Belt d.o.o. Banja Luka, informed President Egrlić and his associates about the problems they are facing after the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Rulebook on Police Uniforms.

With the aforementioned Rulebook, domestic manufacturers are prevented from participating in public procurements, which police agencies at the BiH level will announce in the future, because it prescribes specific technical criteria that only one type of uniform meets, which are produced outside of BiH and whose exclusive representative for BiH is a domestic trading company.

Members of the BH Consortium are companies with decades of experience in the production of police and military uniforms, as well as other police and military equipment, and police uniforms produced in their facilities are used by police forces in Austria, Switzerland and other countries.

The President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, Ahmet Egrlić, thanked the representatives of the BH Consortium for informing him about the issues and expressed full readiness for this institution to help overcome obstacles, in order to enable domestic companies to continue production for the needs of the domestic market and new employment.
