(Patria) - The death toll from the powerful storm that hit Argentina and Uruguay over the weekend has risen to 16 people, Reuters reported.
The Uruguayan meteorological agency announced that two people died from a strong southeast wind gust early Sunday morning.
In Argentina, a woman died early Sunday after being hit by a tree branch in the city of Moreno, local media reported. Thirteen others died on Saturday in the city of Bahia Blanca after a wall collapsed during the storm.
Argentinian President Javier Milei visited the accident site on Sunday. The storm's strong winds also felled trees and streetlights across the capital, Buenos Aires.
