At least eight people were killed and six injured after militants disguised as soldiers stormed a museum in Tunisia and opened fire. The museum is located in the same building as the parliament, reports the Patria News Agency.
An unnamed member of the Tunisian parliament told AFP that parliamentary work was interrupted as soon as the gunshots were heard.
Deputies gathered in the parliament's foyer. Tunisian media reported around 3 PM that the hostage crisis was over. Two attackers were killed, and one police officer also died in the confrontation, as reported by AFP. It is not yet known if all hostages were rescued.
About 150 police officers participated in the operation in which the attackers were killed, announced the state television in Tunisia.
