
The hostage crisis that lasted since this morning in the Dutch city of Ede has ended. Police added that another person was released, and one person was arrested, and that they cannot provide more information.
An armed kidnapper abducted several cafe employees. First, he released three of them, and then another one. After that, he came out of the cafe masked with his hands in the air. The police immediately apprehended him.
Upon receiving the report of the abduction, the police evacuated 150 homes and asked citizens to stay away from the area. They added that there are no indications that the kidnapper's motive was of a terrorist nature.
Around 11:30 AM, the police announced that three hostages had been released, and around 12:30 PM, a masked person emerged from the cafe, and the police immediately handcuffed and arrested him. It was later confirmed that it was the kidnapper, whose motives are still unknown.
