SCHOOL YEAR ENDED IN TK WOUNDED TEACHER FROM LUKAVAC IN SERIOUS CONDITION, SURGERY AT UKC TUZLA STILL UNDERWAY

(Patria) - Minister of Education of Tuzla Canton Ahmed Omerović addressed the public after this morning's tragedy at the Elementary School in that city, stating that the Government of TK has made the decision to end the school year today in all schools in that canton. 

"We will work on school safety until the beginning of the new school year. We are deeply affected by this morning's event. The child is not a student of this school; they were transferred to another due to disciplinary measures. We will wait for the Prosecutor's Office of TK to conclude the investigation before releasing more information," Omerović stated. 

The University Clinical Center Tuzla stated that "the wounded N.O. was hit in the neck area, is in serious condition, and the surgery is still underway." 

A press conference will be held at UKC Tuzla at 2 PM. 

Edin Delić, the mayor of Lukavac, said that "we must look each other in the eye, involve all institutions, and do something to prevent this from happening again. This is a challenge for society as a whole," Delić emphasized. 

"The police do not treat this disease. These are matters that require expertise," Delić stated. 

He added that he heard that educators reacted adequately with the children at the moment of the shooting.
