(Patria) - The Office of the High Representative (OHR) announced today after the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide asked the High Representative Christian Schmidt to dismiss the President of the FBiH Lidija Bradara, who stated on Friday on N1 that Dario Kordić is her friend and that he has served his sentence, thus "presumably ceasing to be a convicted war criminal". The Association asked Schmidt to punish the glorification of war criminals and to ban Lidija Bradara from political activity.
"ICTY judgments do not disappear after the prison sentence is served. War crimes cannot be annulled. The fact that someone has served their sentence does not mean that those crimes have disappeared, but that the individual has been punished for their criminal responsibility.
The High Representative expects politicians to show genuine commitment to advancing reconciliation by acknowledging the suffering of victims and the verdicts handed down. The High Representative is confident that the international community and the vast majority of people in BiH share this clear stance," the OHR announced today.
