OHR: Publish the Budget in the Official Gazette and hold elections without delay

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After a long delay in adopting the budget, it is now of crucial importance that the budget be published in the Official Gazette and that budget execution begin as soon as possible so that the Central Election Commission can take the necessary steps regarding the organization of the 2020 local elections and the elections in Mostar without further delay, it was announced today on the official Twitter account of the OHR.

"The OHR will continue to support the efforts of the Central Election Commission in organizing the elections," it was stated.

This reaction from the OHR followed the publication of a response to the President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, in the media today, signed by the OHR, the EU Delegation, the OSCE, and the Embassies of the USA and Great Britain, stating that the elections must be held and that the BiH CEC has the legitimacy to carry out all necessary procedures.

In the letter, Čović and his HDZ were called upon to support the holding of elections and to provide financial resources to the CEC for their implementation.

Local elections in BiH will be held on November 15, while in Mostar they will be held on December 20, due to delays in the amendments to the Election Law concerning the elections in Mostar.
