Limit fuel margins for oil distributors to mitigate price increases

The Excise Law, which increased fuel prices, came into effect today, and it is expected to cause other price increases. As of today, the price of fuel per tank for citizens of this country is 10 KM more expensive.

The Independent Bloc warned that this price increase would not lead to new roads, development, or employment, which we persistently spoke about and which is why we voted against such a Law, which was confirmed by the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Vjekoslav Bevanda, when he said that the money from excise duties would not go into road construction.

- The Independent Bloc, after failing to prevent the adoption of this law and price increases, proposed in the BiH Parliament that governments limit fuel margins for oil distributors, thus shifting part of the announced price increases to their burden and alleviating the burden of price increases for end-users, especially the most vulnerable categories of the population.

Those who earn more should contribute more to help the entire society move forward faster. We expect the BiH Parliament to urgently accept this proposal and inform the public about it - said Senad Šepić, president of the Independent Bloc and MP in the BiH Parliament.
