(Patria) - U.S. President Donald Trump spoke on Truth Social, posting a status about oil prices, warning global actors not to raise oil prices at a time when the Middle East is boiling over due to U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
"Everyone, keep oil prices low. I'm watching you. You are playing right into the enemy's hands. Don't do it," Trump said.
The White House said today that "the Iranian regime would be crazy to try to close the Strait of Hormuz."
Iran has not yet made a final decision on closing the strait through which part of oil and gas transport passes. The biggest damage would be to China, but also to other world economies due to rising costs and changes in transport routes.
