SIPA also announced: A large number of arrests expected in "General" operation

(Patria) - State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) officers have been carrying out a major operational action against international drug traffickers at multiple locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina since this morning. As announced by SIPA, this is an operation codenamed "General", and the action is being carried out in Serbia and Croatia under the supervision of EUROPOL. A large number of arrests are expected.

“The operational action "General" in Bosnia and Herzegovina is being carried out due to grounds for suspicion that criminal offenses of "Organized Crime" and "Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs" prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been committed. The suspects are accused of forming an organized group for international trafficking of narcotic drugs, and they transported the narcotic drug cocaine from South America via maritime transport and communicated for a long period through the encrypted application SKY Ecc, all with the aim of achieving unlawful property gain,” SIPA stated.

Activities are being carried out by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with police officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.

According to unofficial information, the target of the operation is Zdravko Šagolj, known as Piske, a former general of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO). Šagolj is a former high-ranking military official of the HVO, i.e., the former commander of the "Herceg Stjepan" brigade.
