Mobile phones and textiles worth over 50,000 KM seized

Officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority temporarily seized mobile phones and accessories worth 30,000 KM in Bijeljina, while various textile goods worth  26,130 KM were seized on the Arizona market. The seized goods were being illegally sold on the market of BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Based on operational information about the smuggling of textile goods from the Republic of Serbia into Bosnia and Herzegovina, authorized officials of the UIO from the Group for Prevention of Smuggling and Offences conducted checks on the origin of goods at one legal entity at three locations on the Arizona Market. During the checks of indirect tax calculations and payments, by reviewing accounting documentation and conducting inventory of goods, a surplus of foreign-origin goods was determined. It involved various textile ready-made clothing worth  26,130 KM. The goods were temporarily seized, and a request for the initiation of misdemeanor proceedings will be filed against the legal entity and the responsible person in the legal entity.

Based on processed information about the smuggling of mobile devices and accessories from neighboring countries into Bosnia and Herzegovina, authorized officials of the UIO from the Group for Prevention of Smuggling and Offences conducted checks on the origin of the aforementioned goods at three locations in Bijeljina. Mobile devices and accompanying technical equipment worth 30,000 KM were found in three retail outlets, for which there was no accompanying documentation of the origin of the goods. The goods were temporarily seized, and requests for the initiation of misdemeanor proceedings will be filed against the shop owners from Bijeljina.
