Seized medicines: Hormones without import permit found in postal package

As part of the international operational action "Pangea IX", officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority, Group for Prevention of Smuggling and Offences of the Sarajevo Regional Centre discovered and seized medicinal drugs for which a special import permit is required, it was announced from the ITA BiH, reports the Patria News Agency.

While carrying out operational activities within the international action "Pangea IX" aimed at combating illegal drug trafficking, ITA officials, Group for Prevention of Smuggling and Offences Team I from the Sarajevo Regional Centre, carried out a control and inspection of postal shipments at the Sarajevo Post Office Customs Office.

During the inspection of a private individual's postal package, medicinal drugs were discovered. It was a shipment containing 640 units of substances Aquabolica 100mg, Calida 20mg, and Silda 100mg. The specialized substance identification equipment "Ahura – First defender", donated by the EXBS program through the US Government, played a significant role in the identification and further determination of the mentioned substances.

Given that the mentioned substances fall into the category of hormones and require an import permit, i.e., confirmation from the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the said individual did not possess the necessary permits and documents for import, and they were seized from the private individual.
