Textiles and medical equipment worth BAM 321,000 seized

(Patria) - Authorized officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority, Regional Center Tuzla, in an operational action codenamed "DUKS", as well as at the Orašje Border Crossing seized a large quantity of
textile and medical products worth BAM 321,000.

In the operational action codenamed "DUKS", authorized officers of RC Tuzla, based on information from the Information and Operational Tactical Work Group, carried out checks at two locations covered by RC Tuzla. Based on available information about irregularities in the business operations of certain individuals, they checked the turnover and origin of goods at two locations and found a large quantity of foreign goods for which there was no legally prescribed documentation. It was a large quantity of suits, tracksuits, shirts, etc., i.e., 4855 pieces of textile products.

Also, during a detailed inspection of vehicles at the Orašje Border Crossing using specialized equipment, they found hidden and undeclared goods. These were various medical devices, specifically 251 pieces, which an individual intended to pass through customs procedures without paying import duties. The value of the seized goods in these operational actions is BAM 321,000.00.

During the implementation of measures within their jurisdiction, specialized equipment and vehicles donated to the ITA by the US Embassy through the EXBS program were used.
