Hearing held: BiH Prosecutor's Office withdraws movement ban for Orić in the Federation of BiH

A hearing for Naser Orić was held before the Court of BiH, specifically before the preliminary proceedings judge Minko Kreho, based on a proposal by the BiH Prosecutor's Office to extend the prohibition measures, a reporter from the Patria news agency reports.

Orić's defense filed an appeal against the imposition of prohibition measures on Orić and requested the lifting of these measures, claiming that there is no reasonable suspicion that Orić committed the acts alleged in the indictment.

Prosecutor Miroslav Janjić agreed that Orić should now be allowed to move throughout the entire Federation of BiH, which had previously been prohibited, but they maintained the requests that he must report to the Ministry of Interior and cannot travel outside BiH.

Lejla Čović, Naser Orić's attorney, during her presentation particularly addressed the testimony of protected witness O1, which she said contained contradictory statements, and that in earlier years, specifically 2003, he did not mention the cases attributed to Orić.

She emphasized that the Court will clearly see these contradictions and specifically stated that witness O1 says he "was a witness to the events in Lolići near Bratunac when Milutin Milošević was killed, and then says he was a witness to the events in Zalazje two months later when Slobodan Ilić was killed."

"Your Honor, witness O1 claims that he came on foot at the end of May 1992 from Srebrenica to Lolići in the Bratunac area. And I remind you that the judgment of the International Court in The Hague proved that this was a completely blocked territory and that, in fact, not even a bird could fly over it. But even if we consider that, by some miracle, the witness actually reached Lolići, how was he in Zalazje two months later?" Čović pointed out.

Incidentally, the indictment states that Orić is suspected of the murder of Mitar Savić, and according to the defense, the BiH Prosecutor's Office relies on the statement of witness O1, whose credibility the defense will address during the main trial.

Janjić said it is not true that the indictment is based on a single witness, but rather on more than 30.
