Meeting held at the FBiH Government on strengthening the BiH economy: 'We can do it'

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Members of the Coordination Board for Economic Stabilization and Remediation of Negative Consequences of the Pandemic in FBiH, comprising Federal Ministers Jelka Milićević, Edita Đapo, Amir Zukić and Šemsudin Dedić, held a meeting today at the headquarters of the Federal Government in Sarajevo with representatives of the strategic initiative for the self-sustainability of domestic production and strengthening of the BiH economy, "We can do it".

The idea of the "We can do it" initiative is to overcome the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic and achieve a higher level of self-sustainability of the BiH economy. According to the initiative's authors, this can only be achieved through public-private partnership in three key industrial sectors, namely through development and investment in the agricultural and food sector, the pharmaceutical sector, and the energy and renewable energy sector.

This initiative, in the form of an action plan and strategic guidelines for overcoming the economic crisis, was prepared by domestic experts from various fields, and presented today by the President of the Management Board of BBI Bank and project leader Amer Bukvić, Presidents of the Management Boards of AS Holding Rusmir Hrvić and Sparkasse Bank Sanel Kusturica, and Director of Bosnalijek Nedim Uzunović.

Members of the Coordination Board for Economic Stabilization and Remediation of Negative Consequences of the Pandemic in FBiH welcomed the initiative and emphasized that, in this way, by jointly determining priorities, the newly created situation can be stabilized and improved. It was emphasized that the proposed measures will be considered and incorporated into short-term and long-term plans and programs for economic stabilization and recovery of FBiH. They also informed the guests about the planned activities for economic recovery through the Reform Agenda 2. It was highlighted that such a dialogue between the public and private sectors is the best indicator of the reflection of measures undertaken by the Federal Government with the aim of remediating the consequences of the pandemic. The dialogue will continue with other partners in order to consider all initiatives for economic recovery.
