(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Tuzla accepted the proposal of the TK Prosecutor's Office and ordered detention for Ahmed Kastrati (28), against whom the indictment for the criminal offense of murder has been confirmed, which can last up to two years from the date of the indictment confirmation.
The Court will, in accordance with the law, review the justification for detention every two months.
Kastrati is accused of approaching Saša Vilušić from behind on June 21 in a catering facility in Tuzla, after the victim had a conflict with another person, pulling him by the shoulder and hitting him with his fist in the eye area.
Vilušić fell from the blow, sustained severe head and brain injuries, and died on July 10.
The prosecution stated in the detention proposal that there are special circumstances due to which the suspect, if released, could repeat the criminal offense.
Another investigation for grievous bodily harm is underway against him, and the offense for which he is accused has caused public unrest.
The Cantonal Court in Tuzla rejected the Prosecutor's Office's previous proposal to extend detention on September 9, after which Kastrati was released.
The very next day, he was arrested again, questioned, and an indictment was filed against him with a new proposal for detention – which was confirmed today.
