(Patria) - The Municipal Court in Tuzla has issued a decision ordering one month of detention for Kasim Đulbegović (39) from Tuzla on grounds of strong suspicion of committing the criminal offense of attempted murder.
The proposal to order pre-trial detention was submitted to the judge for preliminary proceedings of the Municipal Court in Tuzla by the Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton (TK).
The Municipal Court in Tuzla determined that there are special circumstances that justify the fear that the suspect will re-offend if released.
Đulbegović is suspected of having fled from security guards after committing the criminal offense of theft as an accomplice in a supermarket in Gračanica on the afternoon of February 21, 2026, holding a pistol in his hand.
Near the supermarket, a plainclothes police officer from the Gračanica Police Department noticed him and issued loud commands for him to stop, drop his weapon, and showed him his official identification, to which the suspect did not comply.
When the police officer attempted to subdue and control him, the suspect raised the pistol at close range towards the officer's chest and fired one shot, which passed under the officer's left armpit.
The police officer then subdued the suspect, confiscated his weapon, after which other officers from the Gračanica Police Department arrived and arrested him.
