DECISION OF THE KS PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE: No investigation against Sebija Izetbegović and KCUS in the case of Nadin Smajlović

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After analyzing the collected evidence, the prosecution team of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, which acted in the case of minor N. S. for the criminal offenses of failure to provide medical aid, negligent treatment, and unauthorized disclosure of professional secrets, has made a decision that an investigation against the reported individuals will not be conducted because the actions of the reported individuals do not constitute the elements of criminal offenses, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office announced.

"Such a prosecutorial decision was made after several actions were carried out, a comprehensive analysis of the case file, and the receipt of a forensic medical expert report from a team of eight specialist doctors. The complainant has the right to appeal this prosecutorial decision to the Office of the Chief Cantonal Prosecutor," the Prosecutor's Office stated. 

We remind you that minor N. S. is Nadin Smajlović. This is about a case from November 2019, when the UNSA Clinical Center, i.e., its director Sebija Izetbegović, publicly stated that no one would treat a child "of such parents." 

The Smajlović family was forced to continue the girl's treatment in Turkey and UKC Tuzla.
