Gaza Truce Delayed, Hamas Has Not Provided Israel with List of Freed Hostages

(Patria) - In the last hour before the truce in Gaza was to begin, Palestinian Hamas announced that the delay in revealing the names of hostages to be released in the first phase was due to "technical reasons".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had previously announced that there would be no truce without the publication of the list of hostages, ordered the Israeli army this morning after Hamas's announcement not to begin the ceasefire in Gaza, which was scheduled to start at 7:30 AM, until Hamas releases the names of the hostages to be freed.

His office announced: "The Prime Minister has instructed the Israeli army that the ceasefire, which is supposed to take effect at 7:30 AM, will not begin until Israel receives the list of abducted individuals to be released, which Hamas has committed to providing," the statement from his office read.

Hamas confirmed its commitment to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza in its announcement this morning.
