Final Verdict Against Dutch Government Postponed

(Patria) - The final verdict in the lawsuit filed by the mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa enclaves at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands was scheduled for today, April 19, 2019.

In the first-instance verdict, the Court ruled partially in favor of the victims, establishing that the Dutch Government was responsible for the deaths of men who were inside the UN base in Potočari in July 1995, at the time of the Srebrenica genocide.

“Such a verdict by the Dutch court was humiliating and unacceptable for the victims, and they filed an appeal, as did the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Surviving victims and witnesses expected the final verdict to be in favor of truth and justice and to establish the real responsibility of Dutch soldiers, but the agony continues. The new date for the final verdict is in three months, on July 19, 2019,” announced the Association Movement “Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves”.
