Defense seeks Radončić's release due to health and his position in the ruling coalition

A main hearing was held at the Court of BiH in the case of Fahrudin Radončić and others where the entire indictment was read, which charges Radončić as the first defendant, along with Bakir Dautbašić, Bilsena Šahman, and Zijad Hadžijahić as an organized group with the aim of committing criminal offenses, obstruction of justice, and giving or receiving rewards for the abuse of influence, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Obstruction of justice refers to pressure on witness Azra Sarić in the proceedings against Naser Keljmendi, which are being conducted in Kosovo.

The prosecution announced 27 witnesses, and at the continuation of the trial on April 13, Indira Ćatić, one of the editors at Dnevni avaz, and lawyer Vasvija Vidović, who cannot be part of the defense due to this case, will testify.

The presiding judge of the Trial Panel, Hasija Mašović, did not allow the defense, nor Radončić himself, to speak about a politically motivated process, even though lawyer Dragan Barbarić insisted on it, justifying that Radončić is a politician and that they are therefore talking about political persecution.

The defense today again submitted a motion to lift Radončić's detention, presenting two new facts compared to previous requests: his health condition, about which they asked the media not to provide details, and the fact that his release is of social importance because he holds significant positions and is part of the ruling coalition, which has led to the blocking of important processes of social interest.

Asim Crnalić, one of Radončić's lawyers, mentioned during the trial, and later to journalists, an insider who sent a letter to some media outlets, but apparently also to the defense, which even listed the composition of the Trial Panel before it was determined.

- Honorable Judge, I sincerely hope that the other claims from this insider's letter will not come true - stated Crnalić.
