Bosniak amendment rejected on RS Agricultural Land Law

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A session of the Nationalities Council of the RS entity was held today to decide on the Law on Amendments to the Law on Agricultural Land. Amendments by the Bosniak Caucus in this body were rejected.

"This law opens the possibility for the ownership of state property to be transferred from the municipality to the ownership of the RS. This is explicitly prohibited by the decisions of High Representative Christian Schmidt," reminded delegate Faruk Đozić.

In an interview with N1, he pointed out that the outcome of sessions like today's has become quite common.

"The session ended as it always does. Our amendment to the proposed Law on Agricultural Land of the RS did not receive support from the Serb Caucus and the Other Caucus in the Nationalities Council of the RS. Recently, High Representative Christian Schmidt said that when someone expresses vital national interest, it is considered that they have immediately obtained it. However, when Bosniaks in the RS request the protection of vital national interest, it is as if we asked Dodik for it, not the Constitutional Court of the RS, which should decide on it. We know the outcome of our vital national interest in advance, it will probably be rejected. This has been a long-standing practice," explained Đozić.

He predicts that the amendments will subsequently be rejected by the Joint Commission of the National Assembly of the RS and the Nationalities Council of the RS, then by the Constitutional Court of the RS, and that this issue will remain on the agenda for the next convocation of the Nationalities Council of the RS.

Đozić reminds that the issue of property is not the only one that has been актуализирано.

"The authorities in this entity are bringing back issues that the Constitutional Court has previously dealt with. Thus, we from the Bosniak Caucus have decided to re-initiate the assessment of the constitutionality of the Law on Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Education, which stipulates the awarding of the Saint Sava award for the best teacher. We cannot identify with it and will soon file an appeal," stated Đozić.

An appeal is also ready concerning the Law on Usurpations and Volunteer Competencies, which deals with the issue of state property, and in which, as Đozić states, usurped property is massively attributed to the ownership of the RS entity. He also added an example of how over 300 usurpations in just one municipality are being registered to the RS.
