RESPONDED TO THE CALL Sarajevo firefighters extinguishing fire in Blidinje Nature Park

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A total of 21 firefighters, members of the Professional Firefighting Brigade of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration of Sarajevo Canton, are assisting fellow firefighters at the fire site in Blidinje Nature Park.

The aforementioned unit has been on the ground for nearly 24 hours and has successfully extinguished the fire and prevented its spread in its zone of responsibility.

On Friday, shortly before midnight, an urgent appeal was sent via the Civil Protection of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the cantonal civil protection administrations.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton immediately held an emergency session and approved the engagement of the KS Professional Firefighting Brigade, which departed for the site after midnight.

As before, firefighters from Sarajevo Canton responded this time as well, providing support to their colleagues in Blidinje, just as they have always done in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Director of the KS Cantonal Civil Protection Administration, Dženan Brkanić, visited the fire-affected area today and, in conversations with local residents and colleagues from the local community, the KS firefighters were praised as the most prepared and professional unit engaged in firefighting.
