Tribute paid and flowers laid for seven citizens killed in Hamdija Kreševljaković Street

From a shell fired from aggressor positions on Hladivode, seven of our citizens were killed in Hamdija Kreševljaković Street at number 47 (formerly Dobrovoljačka) on November 29, 1993, and four were seriously and lightly wounded. On this occasion, families and friends, as well as delegations from the Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, and the Centar Municipality, laid flowers at the memorial in this street today and paid tribute to the innocently killed citizens, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Mustafa Resić, advisor to the mayor Dževad Bećirević, laid flowers on behalf of the Centar Municipality.

- This is a day of remembrance of the terrible crime that happened in the city center, and this is just one of the hundreds of organized, terrorist attacks on innocent citizens of Sarajevo. Weapons spoke against the human heart again. We who witnessed the daily events during the siege of Sarajevo and the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina understand the feelings, pain, and grief of all the families of the victims - Resić stated.

The Minister for Veterans' Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, Mujo Fišo, emphasized that unfortunately, this was not the only time that citizens of Sarajevo were killed while trying to survive.

- Today we gathered to remember seven fallen citizens of Sarajevo to pay tribute to them and preserve them from oblivion. We cannot say that they died; they, like many other people, children, and women who were going for bread and water, were killed, and in a brutal manner. 22 years have passed, and many have not been held accountable for these crimes because the process is progressing slowly. The question arises why and for what reason they did it, what kind of people were they who killed our innocent fellow citizens - Fišo said.

On that fateful day in 1993, the following were killed: Staka Aksentić, Zekerijah Dacić, Ibro and Sead Plakalo, Igbal Redžić, Dženan Smajić, and Elvedin Zimić.
