From the announcement of the 2022 General Elections, the CEC BiH filed 95 reports with prosecutor's offices

(Patria) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed 95 reports with competent prosecutor's offices since May 4, 2022, when the 2022 General Elections were announced, due to well-founded suspicion of criminal offenses, of which 51 reports were submitted in the period from December 12 to 15, 2022.

Each of the 51 reports was filed against political entities because the Central Election Commission of BiH found the names of deceased persons during checks of voter support signatures.

We remind you that the Central Election Commission of BiH, due to well-founded suspicion of ballot tampering, submitted reports to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH ex officio.

Also, all information received by the Central Election Commission of BiH from citizens, which related to abuses of voter registration outside of BiH and postal voting, for mobile team voting, for alleged vote buying, have been submitted to the competent prosecutor's offices through reports. The Central Election Commission of BiH continuously analyzes all cases of irregularities within its jurisdiction in detail.

For polling station committees and municipal/city election commissions for which responsibility is determined, misdemeanor proceedings will be initiated, fines will be imposed on members for whom personal responsibility is determined, and they will be banned from working in election administration bodies for a period of four years. For cases where suspicion of a criminal offense related to the election process arises during the proceedings, a report will be filed with the competent prosecutor's office.

We hereby wish to inform the public that the Central Election Commission of BiH has received 13 decisions from the Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton rejecting as unfounded the complaints of the Central Election Commission of BiH filed against the order on non-initiation of investigation against members of polling station committees engaged at polling stations in the Mostar City Local Elections in 2020. The Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton states that there are no grounds for suspicion that the reported persons have committed the criminal offense they are accused of, nor any other criminal offense that the Prosecutor's Office is aware of ex officio.

Regarding the reports filed with the competent prosecutor's offices against members of polling station committees, after the 2020 Local Elections, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has so far received notifications only from the District Public Prosecutor's Office Doboj, which states that they have filed 48 indictments.

Due to the increasing number of inquiries that the Central Election Commission of BiH receives from members of polling station committees engaged in the 2022 General Elections regarding the payment of compensation for their work, we inform the public that the Central Election Commission of BiH, after the completed administrative procedures, paid the funds to the municipal/city election commissions in November, and at the beginning of December for the municipalities of Tomislavgrad and Velika Kladuša, which are obliged to make payments to the accounts of the members of the polling station committees.

We ask all members of polling station committees who have not yet received their compensation to contact the competent municipal/city election commission.
