Since the start of Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, 67,139 Palestinians have been killed

(Patria) - The Ministry of Health said on Sunday that at least 67,139 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's genocidal war in the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

The Ministry's statement said that 65 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 153 people were injured, bringing the number of injured in the Israeli attack to 169,583.

"Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads, as rescuers cannot reach them," it added.

It also stated that two Palestinians were killed and 30 others were injured by Israeli army fire while trying to obtain humanitarian aid in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 2,605, and over 19,124 others have been wounded since May 27.

The Ministry said that another Palestinian died from malnutrition and hunger in the last 24 hours. This brings the number of famine-related deaths since October 2023 to 460 people, including 154 children.

Since March 2, Israeli authorities have completely closed all border crossings into Gaza, pushing the territory's 2.4 million inhabitants into hunger.

In August, the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in Gaza City and warned that it would spread to other areas of the territory.

Since then, 182 people have died from hunger, including 39 children, the Ministry said.

The Israeli army resumed attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18 and has since killed 13,549 people and wounded 57,542 others, violating the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that came into effect in January.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide lawsuit before the International Court of Justice.
