SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Bill on Amendments to the Budget, which will secure funds to help employers and businesses overcome the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic in the amount of 37 million KM, will be on the agenda of the KS Assembly session tomorrow. Such a proposal was determined by the KS Government at its session on July 21. The planned funds will ensure the payment of part of the salaries for 35,000 employees in 6,300 business entities that have met the conditions.
Business entities, i.e., employers, are facing consequences reflected in the suspension of work, reduction of business activities, and significant illiquidity. All of this has put thousands of jobs and the further retention of workers in question.
"Despite the fact that the KS Government, the first in the Federation of BiH, determined a set of measures to support the real sector, due to various administrative obstacles, it has not yet managed to withdraw IMF funds to help business entities. For these reasons, employers expect urgent measures and the payment of funds intended to help the economy, i.e., for salary payments to employees for April and May. Bearing in mind that employers and their employees expect urgent assistance and that the transfer of funds from the IMF is uncertain, we call on the representatives in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly to act responsibly and urgently adopt the Bill on Amendments to the Budget of Sarajevo Canton," it was announced today from the Association of Employers of Sarajevo Canton.
