Action to remove illegally placed advertisements in Baščaršija to begin on August 23

Following today's meeting between the Mayor of the Old Town Municipality, Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, and the Director of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, Anis Ajdinović, a joint action has been agreed upon to remove all illegally placed illuminated advertisements in Baščaršija, reports Patria News Agency.

- We decided on this step to protect such a space as Baščaršija, where there is absolutely no place for such advertisements. We cannot allow the heart of the Old Town to be turned into an eyesore - said Mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, and thanked the Director of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, Anis Ajdinović, for his readiness to solve this problem.

Employees of the Federal and Municipal Inspectorates will jointly launch this action starting August 23. Owners have been verbally warned by municipal inspectors and will receive a written request from the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs. The request calls on them to remove the advertisements themselves by August 23, otherwise, the aforementioned inspectorates will do so, all at the expense of the lessees. This is a good example of cooperation between two state institutions in solving pressing problems.
