Trial expected to begin for the murder of Sarajevo police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović

(Patria) - After the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo confirmed the indictment of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office in December against Savo Marinković, Aleksandar Macan, and Marko Trifković for the murder of police officers of the MUP KS Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović, the start of the court process is also expected.

The accused are charged with firing at least 20 shots at police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović, who were in a police car, around 4:00 AM on October 26, 2018, in the Alipašino Polje neighborhood, after police officers caught them stealing a vehicle in Geteova Street. The police officers were killed, with Adis Šehović dying immediately from his injuries, while Davor Vujinović was seriously wounded, succumbing to his injuries several hours later.

The KS Prosecutor's Office conducted an investigation into the murder of the police officers for years, and international legal assistance was also obtained.

The indictment was preceded by an investigation by the KS Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and investigators from the MUP KS.

The Federal Police Administration (FUP), the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the MUP of the BiH entity Republika Srpska, and the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina also actively participated in the investigation and contributed to shedding light on the criminal offense.

Among the evidence are, among other things, parts of a "Seat Leon" car and parts of a machine gun with 20 shell casings from which the police officers were killed, which were found buried in Pale, in the RS territory.

Nearly 500 people were interviewed as part of the investigation.

DNA, biological, ballistic, mechanoscopic, and other expert examinations were conducted, including requests for international legal assistance to obtain data and interviews and expert examinations from outside Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Cooperation was established with Europol and Interpol and with the competent authorities of seven countries: the USA, France, Germany, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, and Canada.

Some evidence was also corroborated by data from the Sky and Anom applications, obtained by the KS Prosecutor's Office through international legal assistance, namely from the judicial authorities of the USA and France.
