Desperate father seeks help from BiH authorities: Samed Nadarević in Turkish prison for fifth month!

BiH student Samed Nadarević has been in custody in Silivri, Turkey for five months, after Turkish authorities arrested him along with thousands of Turkish citizens following the attempted military coup in that country in mid-July, NAP reports.

Nadarević, originally from Cazin, is an architecture student at the state university in Istanbul and a scholarship holder of the Turkish state, but he used an apartment owned by the organization of Fethullah Gulen, whom Turkish authorities believe was behind the attempted military coup.

According to information available to the BiH Consulate in Turkey, Nadarević is the only BiH citizen arrested after the failed military coup.

Mujo Nadarević, the father of the arrested Samed Nadarević, is desperate over his son's fate. He says he no longer has contact with the authorities and no one from the Consulate in Turkey is answering.

He speaks with his son by phone every 15 days or so for a few minutes, and a trial is scheduled for December 13. Samed's father would go to Turkey but has no means to do so.

- I am worried about my son. I no longer know what to do. I am desperate, there is no lawyer either. I don't know how he will defend himself - says father Mujo, who was a member of the Army of the Republic of BiH.

Father Mujo still insists that it is a big misunderstanding and that Samed has nothing to do with the events of July 15.

Although we tried to reach someone at the BiH Embassy in Ankara during the day, no one answered the phones.

The fact that BiH has so easily given up on its citizen is concerning.
