Hegseth and Caine addressed: We expect new American casualties

(Patria) - In US military operations against Iran, 18 members of US forces were seriously wounded, announced US CENTCOM spokesman Captain Tim Hawkins.

CENTCOM announced on Sunday that three US soldiers were killed in combat operations, and five were seriously wounded. That number has been updated today - it has been confirmed that a total of four members of US forces have been killed.

Sources confirmed to CNN that all four were killed in the same attack in Kuwait. Kuwait's air defense shot down three US fighter jets.

General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at a press conference today that it will take time to achieve US military goals in Iran and that new American casualties are expected.

The Israeli-American war against the Islamic Republic of Iran expanded on Monday and shows no sign of ending.

US military forces simultaneously intercepted hundreds of ballistic missiles aimed at American targets and partners in the region.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that military operations against Iran will not become an "endless war," although he also emphasized that the operation will not be finished overnight. Hegseth said the goal is to destroy Iran's missiles, navy, and other security infrastructure.

"This is not Iraq. It will not be endless," Hegseth said, alluding to the US occupation of Iraq that lasted more than eight years.

Trump, a Republican who proclaimed himself an opponent of interventionism and before returning to the White House boasted as the only president who "did not start any new war," launched a campaign against Iran on Saturday together with Israel, the decades-long biggest US rival in the Middle East. Trump will address the media later, on the third day since the attack on Iran.
