Obralija: We will request information from the BiH Prosecutor's Office on whether an investigation is being conducted against Vilić

The session of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has concluded, attended today by SIPA Director Perica Stanić and his assistant Đuro Knežević, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

They came to the session at the invitation of the Independent Board, where the situation in the State Agency for Investigation and Protection was discussed, following Stanić's appointment as director, reports Patria's correspondent.

Enes Obralija, Deputy Chair of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that the members of this body expressed full support for the work of the new leadership and expressed hope that other personnel changes in SIPA would be resolved soon.

- There is clear readiness in the work of this Agency in the fight against terrorism and organized crime. However, in this fight, it is also important who will carry out this work. You know that Stanić only recently assumed the director position and it is clear that he needs time to find suitable people for some important functions within SIPA. Stanić expressed in his presentation readiness to distribute positions in accordance with the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will respect the national balance - said Obralija.

We recall, the former convicted SIPA director Goran Zubac literally almost ethnically cleansed SIPA of Bosniaks and Croats, and Stanić will have a lot of work to finally satisfy the national balance.

Obralija emphasized that after Stanić's appointment, numerous foreign figures, as well as representatives of the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the members of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina themselves, visited SIPA.

Also, today at the session there was an initiative by the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Mektić, requesting an investigation into the responsibility of, among others, Mirsad Vilić, director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, in connection with the attack on Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić on July 11 in Potočari.

Obralija said that two conclusions were adopted on this occasion, one being that the BiH Prosecutor's Office should be requested to provide an act indicating whether an investigation is possibly being conducted against any individuals appointed by the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- After we receive the requested response, the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will comment on it. The BiH Prosecutor's Office will receive our request as early as tomorrow, and since this is a very complicated matter that needs to be resolved as soon as possible, we expect a prompt response - said Obralija.

Incidentally, Žiko Krunić did not attend the session, and the session was chaired by Obralija as his deputy.
