Obradović initiated the renovation of oil storage terminals and procurement of reserves

We are facing an economic crisis, rising prices, and inadequate government response. The problem is evident, and representatives are increasingly appealing to Novlić's Government, said MP Amer Obradović (Independent Bloc) today at the session of the House of Representatives. 

"My appeal, or rather initiative, relates to the storage and procurement of oil reserves. The fact that the Federation Terminals Operator has managed to restore only 3% of pre-war oil storage capacity in 17 years is devastating. Article 44 of the Law on Oil Derivatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina stipulates that OTF is the sole authority for establishing and renewing oil derivative reserves. As such, OTF is directly responsible for establishing three-month oil reserves in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is one of the essential factors in the process of joining the European Union," stated Obradović.

He adds that the Russian aggression against Ukraine has caused a huge energy crisis, but there have been crises before, and there will be in the future, so it is important that the Government of the Federation, as well as the institution responsible for creating federal oil reserves, the Federation Terminals Operator, first adopt an action investment plan so that citizens and the entity are assured that OTF and oil storage facilities will be fully operational and filled with legally prescribed oil reserves.

"In 2012, the European Energy Community gave Bosnia and Herzegovina a deadline of 10 years to fulfill its obligations under Directive 119, specifically, for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to establish reserves of 200 million liters. Ten years later, OTF, as well as the relevant ministry led by Nermin Džindić, has managed to realize only 3% of the required quantities. Of course, with this initiative, the Federation Railways should also be more involved in solving the problem and enable them to transport more oil, in order to have public control over the import and quality control of oil derivatives," Obradović said.
