Bihać Health Center Renovation Delayed by Procedures, Authorities Claim Funds Available

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of Una-Sana Canton (USK) will finance the construction of a new Health Center building, as well as the renovation of the existing one. There will be no shortage of funds, it was stated at a meeting held at the initiative of Fatka Kulenović, a representative in the USK Assembly. However, deadlines have not been specified because the government believes that laws that prolong procedures are an obstacle.

- The cantonal government, with the support of the Assembly, will lead the entire process, and we will be grateful to everyone who gets involved to help this project. We will provide any funds that are lacking through the cantonal budget, stated the Prime Minister of USK, Mustafa Ružnić.

The renovation project has already been completed, and decisions are awaited to commence the works. The goal is for healthcare workers and patients to spend the winter in a safe environment.

- It is incomprehensible to me that we are waiting so long, as the construction season has already begun. My proposal was for the government to make a decision urgently, for no one to be waited for, and for the responsibility not to be passed back and forth. It is very important that the building is completed as soon as possible and that everything is done according to the law, stated Razim Halkić, President of the USK Assembly.

The Health Center was damaged in an earthquake, and a part of it is unsuitable for providing services.
