The jury of the Balkan Photo Festival has selected the finalists of the Festival, whose works will be exhibited in the City Hall on January 27th, starting at 7 PM.
In addition to the exhibition opening, awards will be presented at the formal ceremony in categories (Balkan Photo Festival statue), the Canon Grand Prix Award (Canon EOS 5D MK IV), and a special Canon EOS 80D award.

The Balkan Photo Festival and the Balkan Photo Award competition are the legal successors of the Photo of the Year BiH festival. The announcement of the winners and the complete Festival program are traditionally held in Sarajevo at the end of January.
The Festival consists of three programs: competition, education, and connecting photographers through socializing. The competition, called Balkan Photo Award, includes a selection of the best 90 photographs from 11 categories (Nude, Fashion/Advertising Photography, Cultural Heritage, Mobile Phone Photography, Sports, Everyday Life, Portrait, Creative Photography, Nature and Environment, News and Events, and Reportage) from the past year, selected by a jury formed specifically for each Festival.
The concept of the competition itself involves opening a submission period for works at the beginning of December each year, which lasts for one month.
After that, the works are judged, and the exhibition is prepared. Every last Monday of January, the formal opening of the exhibition and the announcement of the five winners in each category are organized, which also marks the beginning of the festival program.
In the Education program, which takes place after the formal opening, lectures and workshops by renowned photography professionals are organized.
The Connection program includes the organization of round tables, photo coffees, photo safaris, as well as concerts and joint outings to entertainment events, allowing guests and local photographers to socialize outside the official program.
Fotografija.ba is the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian portal dedicated to photography. This portal was founded in 2008 by Haris Čalkić and Nedim Krdžalić with the aim of gathering as many photography enthusiasts as possible in one place.
The founders' wish was to connect photographers from all over BiH through Fotografija.ba to exchange their experiences and works, and an additional motive was the fact that there was no similar portal with a BiH identity. Since the beginning of 2011, the Fotografija.ba portal has been operating as a section of the Association "Urban" from Sarajevo, whose president is Jasminko Halilović.
Today, the Fotografija.ba portal is the largest photography community, gathering over 2,500 registered members, with an annual production of original photographs close to 18,000.
