(Patria) - The selection of contractors for the construction of the Mostar North – Mostar South section has begun. Public Company Autoceste FBiH today published a Call for prequalification for the construction of the highway on
Corridor Vc, section Mostar North – Mostar South. The deadline for submitting prequalification offers is September 13, 2022.
"By publishing this tender within the foreseen and announced deadline, we have confirmed our readiness to build the major projects ahead of us. Significant work has been done in the past four months thanks to the cooperation and engagement of the FBiH Government, the relevant ministry, and JP Autoceste FBiH, as the project investor. The construction of the Mostar North – Mostar South section will ensure the full traffic functionality of the highway through Herzegovina, from Mostar North all the way to the Bijača border crossing," said Elmedin Voloder, Director of JP Autoceste FBiH.
The project for the construction of the Mostar North – Mostar South section is worth 350 million euros. It is planned to be financed from funds secured with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD),
commercial banks, European Union grants, and own funds. The length of the section is 14.2 kilometers. According to the conceptual design, the construction of the Mostar North interchange with a side toll station, five tunnels with a total length of about six kilometers, and ten
viaducts/bridges with a total length of about two kilometers is planned. The length of the open route is about six kilometers.
The start of construction works is planned for the first half of 2023, with a completion deadline of three years.
With two major infrastructure projects such as the Prenj tunnel and Mostar North – Mostar South, the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be fully connected to European road corridors, to the north with Corridor X, and to the south with the Adriatic-Ionian highway, which will bring direct benefits to the entire society through the development of the areas it passes through, the business community, and tourist potentials.
