First anniversary of the murder of FUP member Mahir Begić marked

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Marking the first anniversary of the death of the fallen police officer of the Federal Police Administration, Mahir Begić, a delegation of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Police Administration and the Trade Union of Employees of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, on 7.2.2020, laid wreaths at the site of his death at the Police Cadets Training Center "Mahir Begić" in Suhodol, at the "Lokve" cemetery in the Hadžići municipality, where he was buried, and visited the family of the fallen officer. Begić was killed on February 9 while securing a facility in Suhodol, and his killer Edin Gačić was finally identified and killed on February 12, 2019. Gačić had initially killed Suad Sultanić near Konjic and, while on the run, encountered Begić, whom he killed. 

We remind you that from 04.02. and 05.02.2020, a futsal tournament was held at the Vrace Police Academy in Sarajevo in memory of the fallen police officer, with teams from all security agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina participating, thus paying tribute to the fallen police officer.

After the futsal tournament, all participants received certificates of participation, and the most successful received diplomas, trophies, and appropriate awards. A total of 21 matches were played during this two-day tournament, officiated by referees from the Association of Football Referees and Instructors of Sarajevo Canton.

The first place was won by the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, the second place was won by the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Central Bosnia Canton, and the third place was won by the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton.

Verić Dragan from the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska was declared the best scorer, while Ismail Vrebac from the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Central Bosnia Canton was declared the best goalkeeper, and they received appropriate awards (trophies and footballs).
