9th Anniversary of the Murder of Police Officer Muhidin Pivodić Marked

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The ninth anniversary of the murder of police officer Muhidin Pivodić was marked today. 

Delegations from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, the Police Directorate of the MUP KS, the KS Police Union, led by Minister Admir Katica, Police Commissioner Nusret Selimović, and President of the KS Police Union Sadik Ećo, together with the family of the murdered police officer and colleagues from all police directorates, as well as representatives of the Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality and the Orthodox Church, visited the memorial in the Reljevo settlement and the Bare cemetery, commemorating the tragic event with respect.  

By laying flowers and paying tribute, all attendees expressed their moral and professional obligation to preserve the memory of their tragically fallen colleague Pivodić, as well as other police officers who gave their lives while performing their duties honorably, conscientiously, and professionally, for the benefit of all citizens of Sarajevo Canton.

Anel Ćemo, who murdered police officer Pivodić while he was performing his official duty of securing the Orthodox Church in Reljevo, was sentenced to 34 years in prison.
