Police Day Marked in FBiH

On the occasion of Police Day in the Federation of BiH, a formal session of the Collegium of the Federal Minister of Internal Affairs and the Director of the Federal Police Administration was held today, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Flowers were laid today for fallen members of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Federal Minister of Internal Affairs, Aljoša Čampara, stated that according to analyses based on statistical documents for the period May 2015 and May 2014, there has been a certain decrease in the number of criminal offenses, expressed his satisfaction, and said he hopes that in the coming period there will be a reduction in all criminal offenses at the Federation level.

- The security situation is a prerequisite for the economic progress of the country, political stability, and the Euro-Atlantic integration of BiH, Čampara emphasized.

The Minister stressed that the Law on Police Officers at the Federation of BiH level has been initiated. With the support of the OHR, the European Commission, and the Embassy of the United States of America, he also stated that this will certainly be a modern law, based on European standards.

- The new Law on Police Officers at the Federation of BiH level will apply to police officers at the federal level. This is a systemic law and is very important for the overall police structure in the Federation of BiH, Čampara said.

The Director of the Federal Police Administration, Dragan Lukač, congratulated all police officers in the Federation of BiH on July 1, which has been declared Police Day.

- The police structure in the Federation of BiH is capable, organized, and ready. When it comes to public order and the safety of citizens and their property, the police will do all the work that lies ahead of them in the future - Lukač said.

When asked about the security situation in the Federation of BiH, he said that the situation is satisfactory, despite the existing problems in the social sphere. At the formal session of the Collegium, appropriate awards were presented to awarded employees of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Police Administration for their personal commitment and successful results achieved in their daily work.
