Day of the FBiH Police Marked, Fight Against Crime and Corruption Needs to be Strengthened

On the occasion of July 1st, the Day of the Police in FBiH, a joint working and ceremonial session of the Collegium of the Federal Police Administration and the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs was held at the Police Hall. The session was attended by 25 cadets who are starting their work in the FPA, reports the Patria agency.

FPA Director Dragan Lukač stated that the police structure in FBiH is sufficiently strong, and with around 8,000 police officers, it represents a force, and if necessary, an armed force that can confront all those who do not work for the benefit of this country, or who are undermining the constitutional order.

Lukač called on the FBiH Government to adopt as soon as possible the law on the special prosecutor's office and the special department of the Supreme Court of FBiH in order to obtain a mechanism for a successful fight against organized crime and corruption, as well as the new law on police officers in FBiH, which has been pending for five years.

Minister Aljoša Čampara, responding to the question of whether there is a real danger to the citizens of BiH from terrorist attacks, said that dangers always exist in the whole world.

- We are all witnesses to what has happened, but we must all work on preventing these dangers, both the police and the wider social community.

Čampara categorically rejected the theses being promoted by certain political and media circles about the existence of "terrorist camps" in BiH.

- The claims that thousands of fighters, citizens of BiH, are returning from the battlefields in Syria, and that there are terrorist camps in FBiH, are not true. These are lies and absurdities - said Minister Čampara.
