Autopsy revealed: Baby in Banja Luka kindergarten died in sleep

(Patria) - The baby who died in a private kindergarten in Banja Luka died of sudden death, confirmed by the autopsy of the body performed at the Institute of Forensic Medicine of RS.

It is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. There were no injuries on the body, nor were any elements discovered during the investigation that would indicate any criminal offense.

The ten-month-old baby died yesterday while sleeping in the kindergarten. Kindergarten staff noticed around 1:30 PM that the baby showed no signs of life and immediately called emergency services.

"After the call, a complete medical team, consisting of a doctor and two medical technicians, was dispatched to the scene. Upon the team's arrival, a male infant was found, unconscious, with cyanotic skin," stated the Banja Luka Health Center.

After checking vital signs, the emergency medical team began resuscitating the child, which continued in the ambulance during transport to the intensive care unit of the Pediatric Clinic at the University Clinical Center of RS.

Despite all the doctors' efforts and resuscitation measures, the child's death was confirmed at 2:45 PM.
